Green is where the Heart Is for October 9, 2013

“Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Contributing Writer

It is my mission in life to help people create healthy, happy homes and offices.  To commence this process we begin by becoming aware of what it means to live green.  Living green is a way of life, taking great consideration both in our outside environment and our environment within.  It is easy to recognize the way a cluttered space or a polluted area can make us feel depressed, depleting our emotional health.  When we use products on our bodies that are made with toxic chemicals, the same happens within.  Contrary to what you may believe, toxic products are not outlawed and I have even heard of baby shampoos containing formaldehyde.  Do you remember what formaldehyde did to those frogs we had to dissect in high school biology class?  I would never want to put that ingredient or any other unpronounceable chemical into my baby’s body.  Anything you put ON your body is absorbed INTO your body.  That’s the nature of our bodies being comprised of 50%-75% water depending on age, infants being the highest.  Have you ever read the list of ingredients in your bath and body products?  ALLIE LEATHERWOOD did.

FLYING PI KITCHEN, 402 Chestnut, Wilmington will be providing 6 different pies for the reception including their specialty Honey Sea Salt which will taste delicious paired with a cup of coffee provided by ISLAND ROAST COFFEE.
Come out and see Mike’s show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (plus a skin care Bar!)  and partake in a fun evening. The scent of happiness will be abundant in this space.  xo mo
