New Special Events Coordinator Named

NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher Special Events Coordinator Emily Clark.

Kure Beach, N.C. — Emily Clark was recently promoted to Special Events Coordinator at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Clark will oversee all special events at the Aquarium, including weddings, parties and major events like Trick or Treat Under the Sea. She replaces Terry Bryant, who retired from the state of North Carolina in July.
Clark joined the Aquarium family in 2008 as the part-time Assistant Special Events Coordinator. In 2009, she was promoted to full-time Assistant Special Events Coordinator. Clark earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2006. “I look forward to upholding the Aquarium’s excellent reputation for special events and adding exciting new opportunities to engage the community and further the Aquarium’s mission.” said Clark. Clark’s interest in event planning sparked during a communications course in college.
Since then, she’s considered it her personal goal to ensure events are both memorable and unique. “As Assistant Special Events Coordinator, Emily shared in creating and promoting Aquarium events, building relationships with clients and vendors, and establishing the Aquarium as a premiere rental venue.” said Aquarium Director Peggy Sloan. “Aside from her considerable skill, Emily’s positive outlook and willingness to help in all areas of Aquarium operations set her apart for advancement within the organization.”
Aquarium staff voted Clark the recipient of the 2011 Customer Service Award for her attention to clients, upbeat attitude and continued focus on guest satisfaction.
