The Go Green Club began several years ago, under the direction of Mrs. Manzella, our CBES counselor, with the express purpose of recycling the enormous amounts of paper that are typically generated in a school. With the addition of the state mandate to recycle aluminum and plastic bottles, our boys and girls collect those as well. Our students meet after school on Mondays to collect recyclables for an early Tuesday morning pick up and meet the first Friday of the month for a class session on an ecological topic.
The club is open to students in third through fifth grade. Logistically speaking, the ideal number for the group would be eight to ten students and we are currently at fifteen. We do, however, maintain a waiting list should a slot open up.Our students are enthusiastic and have a real commitment to the betterment of our world!
