Steve Woodard of Kure Beach was installed as president of the Kiwanis Club of Wilmington North Carolina during the club’s installation dinner at the Cape Fear Country Club. Presiding over the installation ceremony was Carolinas District - Division 26 Lieutenant Governor Charles Bowie. Also installed were Immediate Past President Kent Harrell, President-Elect Mark McLamb, Treasurer Mark Tinsley and Secretary Steve Colwell. The following members were elected to the club’s board of directors: Geoffrey Broadhead, Jamie Howell, Wayne Raynor and Robert Wallen. Other members of the board are: Crystal Fray, Joe George and Melton McLaurin.
The Kiwanis motto is “Serving the Children of the World”. Kiwanis International includes 8,400 clubs with more than 270,000 members in 96 nations. Last year, Kiwanis clubs donated more than $100 million and almost 6 million volunteer hours of community service.
