I know that many of you have watched the videos or seen pictures of the destruction of Hurricane Sandy and said to yourself “I wish I could do something” or “I wonder what they may need” and “How can I help?” Well, Eugene Ashley High School has teamed up with Point Pleasant Beach High School in New Jersey to provide financial aid to their community. As of Friday, November 30th almost 35% of their student body are still displaced from their homes.
They were without power for almost three weeks.
Ashley High School will be hosting numerous fund raisers to raise awareness and financial aid for our teammates in New Jersey. The Athletic Department will be collecting donations at athletic contests and earmarking a percentage of each ticket sold to the relief effort. Student Government, The Leadership Club, and Dream Team at Ashley will be hosting fund raisers (Hat Day, Jean Day, 5K and Fun Run, etc) and donating the proceeds to Point Pleasant Beach.
Unfortunately, bad things happen to good people. But good people with great optimism, resilience and faith; ultimately turn the bad into good. Students, student-athletes, parents, and community members of Eugene Ashley High School, you can make a positive difference by donating to the Ashley Booster Club (memo: Point Pleasant Beach Fund). All proceeds will be sent to the community to aid in the cleanup, repair, and rebuilding efforts.
Thank you in advance for your support of this effort and for making a positive difference. Mail to: Ashley Athletic Booster Club, Pt. Pleasant Beach Fund, 555 Halyburton Memorial Parkway, Wilmington, NC 28412
