The Carolina Beach Parks & Recreation Department's Cookies with Santa was a great success. The Carolina Beach Welcome Center was transformed into a winter wonderland and Kris Kringle himself was in attendance to visit with the kids of Pleasure Island.
Over 100 children attended the event. Amazingly, no child that attended this year was on the naughty list, so each got a chance to visit with Santa and let them know what was on their wish list this Christmas. All kids and parents were treated to hot chocolate and cookies and plenty of holiday cheer. The Help Center took in approximately 100 donated canned food items from this event. The Parks & Rec. Dept. would like to thank the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee and of course Santa Clause for making this event possible.
