The Pleasure Island Chamber Ends Summer with a Bang

This past Friday, August 30th the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce ended summer with a BANG holding a Triple Fireworks Display at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. Eyes were peeled to the skies for the almost 30 minute pyrotechnic display. Sunday evening the Chamber also hosted their last “Free Sunday Movies at the Carolina Beach Lake” where moviegoers enjoyed Oz The Great and Powerful. Although Summer has officially ended there is still plenty of events for the area. This Friday the American Legion Post 129 will host their monthly Fish Fry from 11am until 7pm. Come out for a great cause and try a healthy serving of whiting or catfish nuggets. The Legion is located at 1500 Bridge Barrier Road in Carolina Beach. Saturday support our Island’s seniors at the Katie B. Hines Senior Center Monthly Pancake Breakfast from 7:30am until 11:00am. For only $6.00 have your share of pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee! Also Saturday at the Carolina Beach Lake, the Farmers Market will continue until September 28th.
