Mr. Tribe is the past recipient of the prestigious "Jefferson Davis Gold Medal" given to him by the Chapter for his book on "Elmira, NY Prison Camp" which held over 500 soldiers just from Fort Fisher.
His new book which will be published this summer is on the other camp where Fort Fisher prisoners were taken to "Point Lookout, MD". In his research, Mr. Triebe has found over 430 names not previously recorded or noted on the monuments at Point Lookout. Mrs. John Gasson, Vice President of the North Carolina Division, UDC was also a guest. Mrs. Thomas Lavin, Resistrar assisted in serving light refreshments after meeting. The June meeting will be held at Mrs. Lavin's home and is a family covered dish gathering with installation of officers for the coming term of 2 years.
