• Monday, March 19, 2012: Membership Meeting. 7:30-9:00 pm Jim Steele, Manager of Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Paul Laird of the Friends of Fort Fisher will speak on the history of the Historic Site and report on the outcome of the Strategic Planning project conducted in 2011.
• Saturday March 24, 2012 Walking Tour of “The Sugar Loaf Line of Defense” with Dr. Chris Fonvielle 2pm-4pm. $5.00 donation requested. Limit of 25 participants. Meet at the Federal Point History Center. 1121-A N Lake Park Blvd. Carolina Beach, North Carolina. Reservations will be available beginning March 1 at the Federal Point History Center. • Monday April 16, 2012: Membership Meeting. 7:30-9:00 pm Devon Kelly, Senior in Public History, UNC-W will report on her research on the history and the development of the “beach resort.” We will also “open” her exhibit that will run through next summer.
Monday May 21, 2012: Membership Meeting. 7:30-900 pm. Lois Wheatley, author of Images of America, Carolina Beach will share stories about the vintage photographs she has collected in this book just published by Arcadia Books.
Monday June 18, 2012: Potluck Picnic. 6:30 – 8:30 pm Summer Potluck/Picnic. The perfect time to bring friends and prospective members.
