Summer Camp Calendars
Attention Parents: We will be posting our Summer Camp Calendars online on Monday, April 16th. Check out our website to see which activities your child would like to participate in. Sign up for our summer camps will be Tuesday, May 1st @ 8:00am. Everyone will be able to sign up for four camps each day. This allows everyone an opportunity to participate. Make sure you check your summer vacation dates ahead of time, because there are no transfers or refunds. (Cash Only) We are looking forward to an exciting and fun filled summer!

Pleasure Island Exercise Class
Join Jean Martin for PI Exercise class. This class incorporates low impact exercises. It includes a warm up, stretching, balance, strength training, back strengthening, and a cool down. Classes meet in the gym every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
Cost is only $1.00 per participant and all participants must have a Recreation Center Membership prior to taking the class. For additional information, please contact the Rec Center at 458-2977.
Power Flow Yoga
Instructor Carly Rickard is leading Power Flow Yoga class that explores advanced yoga postures. This is designed for intermediate to advanced fitness levels with a focus on increasing flexibility and core strength. Class will be every Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The cost is $8.00 per class. All participants must be Recreation Center Members or pay the daily Guest fee. Please contact the Recreation Center at (910) 458-2977 for additional information.
Mini Monets Art Classes
The Recreation Center is offering kids art instruction. Instructor Jennie Wenk is leading these classes every Wednesday from 4:15-4:45 pm. Mini Monets is an extracurricular art class that is provided on location among area schools, child care centers, and recreation facilities. The lessons are created to encourage creative expression and to supplement the NC Arts Education Curriculum. New Students can join classes at anytime!

Hula Hoop Fitness
Would you like to embrace your inner child while getting a full-body workout? Join Stephanie Davis for Hula Hoop Fitness! Hooping is a fun and creative way to add some excitement to your daily exercise. Working inside the hoop can be very meditative and a wonderful expression of self. This class will focus on using your core strength to awaken those muscles you had no idea existed! Class is every Tuesday from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Cost is only $8.00 per participant. Beach Pilates for kids & adults
Starting Friday, April 6th, instructor Sophina Goodall will venture outside to teach Beach Pilates at the Carolina Beach Oceanfront Boardwalk Stage. Classes will be on Friday’s from 7:00-8:00am. Cost is just $8.00 per participant with ages 12 and under for free. Bring your workout mat, towel, and drink. Children are encouraged to attend. Classes are held as weather permits.
Lil’ Yogis Kids Yoga Classes
Join Mandy as we stretch our imaginations and our bodies. This yoga class is open to all children ages 5-10 years old. Class includes yoga, games, crafts and laughs. Lil’ Yogis will be held at the Recreation Center on Sunday’s from 3:30-4:30pm. Cost is just $6 per participant. A portion of the class proceeds will be donated to the Carousel Center for Abused Children.
Spring Break Camps
We will be having two spring break trips. Tuesday, April 3rd we will be venturing to Southport on our bicycles from 9:30-4:00pm. This camp is for kids ages 10-13 and will be $15. On Wednesday, April 4th we will be traveling to Baldhead for the day, where we will explore the lighthouse and the island on our golf carts. This camp will be for kids ages 10-13 and will be $45. We will be leaving meeting at 8:00am at the Fort Fisher Ferry and parent pick up will be at 5:15pm. Tired of doing the same old workout? Add an extra boost to your workout routine with Christina Dees Booty Camp class! Class differs week to week and offers a variety of workout options so you’ll never get bored. Workouts include stretchy band, pilates ball, medicine ball, stationary circuit, and timed circuit. All fitness levels are welcome to attend as exercises can be modified to your level of comfort. Classes will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 10:15-11:15 am. Participants must be Recreation Center members or pay the daily guest fee along with the class rate. Classes are $6.00 per participant. Zumba with Tori Casey fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. Participants achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing movements. Classes take place every Thursday from 5:30-6:30 pm at the Carolina Beach. Cost is just $6 per participant. Applicants needed for Committee
The town of Carolina Beach is looking for applicants to serve on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Committee members are responsible for giving input on Parks & Recreation projects, improvement of parks and facilities, as well as helping to plan and volunteer at Special Events throughout the year. Applicants must be a Carolina Beach resident. To apply, go to www.carolinabeach.org or pick up an application at Carolina Beach Town Hall. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board meets at 7 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the Recreation Center. Deadline for applicants is Monday, April 2nd at 5:00pm.
Anusara-Inspired Hatha Yoga Class
Instructor Holli Terrell-Cavalluzzi is leading Hatha Yoga classes at the Recreation Center. This practice is deeply grounding and will inspire your spirit and open your heart. We will move through a full spectrum of poses using biomechanical principles of alignment. Classes are open to all levels of experience.
Classes are every Tuesday from 9:30-11:00 am. Classes are $10.00 each. All participants must be members of the Recreation Center.
Carolina Beach Aerobics
The class is a total body workout that combines a 30-minute aerobics segment, along with a weight and abdominal workout. Please bring your own 4-6 pound dumbbells if you have them. This class is a fun and energizing way to exercise for all ages. The class is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00-9:00 am. Cost is $2.00 per participant. This is a great way to burn off those extra calories and stay in shape.

Happy Little Singers
Lots of fun for you and your little one! An early childhood music and movement class for kids 9 months to 6+ years. Please attend a fun-filled one hour session at the Carolina Beach Rec Center on Tuesdays at 11:30 am. Drop in welcome!
Cost is only $10 for first child with parents and $5 for each additional child.

"Gentle Beginner Yoga"
Lia Zazzali is a Yoga Alliance registered Yoga teacher at the 200-hour level. Explore Yoga through asana, pranayam, and meditation. This class explores yoga for service as you relax and restore the mind and body.
Great for beginners or those who want to warm up before Kunga Vinyasa. This class will meet every Friday from 9:30 until 10:30 am. Cost is $8.00 per class. Participants can also purchase a 5-class punch card for only $30.00. All participants must have a Recreation Center Membership prior to taking the class.
