CB Kula Yoga
Join us in practicing CB Kula Yoga at the Carolina Beach Oceanfront Stage! Kula means “community of the heart” and “yoga family”. Classes are only held as weather permits every Saturday from 7:30 – 8:30 am. Classes are from May through September. Instructors include Rebecca Niamtu, Lia Zazzali, Holli Terrell-Cavaluzzi, Jennifer Rabancho, Leslie Stafford, Carly LaBruno, Mandy Nicolau, and Martha Florenz. Cost is only $8.00 per person. Zumba with Tori Casey fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. Participants achieve long-term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing movements. Classes take place every Thursday from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the Carolina Beach. Cost is just $6 per participant. Gentle Beginner Yoga
Lia Zazzali and Carly LaBruno are instructing our Gentle Beginner Yoga classes! Discover yoga through asana, pranayam, and meditation. This class explores yoga for service as you relax and restore the mind and body. Great for beginners and all levels are welcome! This class will meet every Friday from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Cost is $8.00 per class. All participants must have a Recreation Center Membership or pay the daily guest fee plus the rate of the class. Don’t let the name keep you from trying Christina Dee’s Booty Camp class! This class focuses on working the booty along with an overall “total fit” and core workout. Workouts include stretchy band, pilates ball, medicine ball, hand weights, and balance discs. While this is a high intensity workout, exercises can be modified to fit any fitness level. Add a little spice to your workout routine and come give this class a try! Classes will take place every Monday and Wednesday from 10:15 - 11:15 am. Participants must be Recreation Center members or pay the daily guest fee along with the class rate. Classes are $6.00 per participant. Instructor Sophina Goodall is leading Pilates Classes at the Recreation Center. This is a Pilates Class for all levels of experience. Pilates will increase your strength, flexibility and control of your body. The classes meet every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 – 10:00 am. All participants must be a Recreation Center Member prior to taking the class or pay the daily guest fee prior to attending class. Cost is $8.00 per participant. Starting in May, we will offer FREE pick-up Volleyball in the gym! Join us every Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Basketball by the Sea Camp
Brian Williams is coaching our Summer Basketball Camps: Session I = June 18th - 22nd and Session II = July 23rd - 27th. This is for children ages 6 - 16. Camp meets from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm. Registration starts Tuesday, May 1st at 8:00 am. The "Early Bird Special" is valid for the entire month of May: only $100 per participant! Registration fee after May is $135 per participant. 18th Annual Youth Pier
Fishing Tournament June 2nd
Carolina Beach Parks & Recreation and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee would like to invite children ages 5 - 15 to the 18th Annual Pier Fishing Tournament. It will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at the Kure Beach Pier. Registration is from 6:00 am - 8:00 am. The fishing tournament is from 7:00 am - 10:00 am. The awards ceremony will follow the tournament. The entry fee is $2.00 plus a donation of at least two canned food items. The first 100 kids without a fishing pole will receive a rod and reel. The first 150 kids will receive a free tournament t-shirt and be given free bait while it lasts. Prizes awarded for biggest fish in each age group. Bring the family out for a day filled with fun in the sun! Hula Hoop Fitness
Carly LaBruno is instructing a new all-levels Yoga Class! During this practice, the asanas (postures) are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. You will not only enjoy the muscle strength, endurance, flexibility and stress reduction that all yoga has to offer but also get the added cardiovascular benefits from the continuous movements. Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Would you like to embrace your inner child while getting a full-body workout? Join Stephanie Davis for Hula Hoop Fitness! Hooping is a fun and creative way to add some excitement to your daily exercise. Working inside the hoop can be very meditative and a wonderful expression of self. This class will focus on using your core strength to awaken those muscles you had no idea existed! Class is every Tuesday from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Cost is only $8.00 per participant. Carolina Beach Aerobics
The class is a total body workout that combines a 30-minute aerobics segment, along with a weight and abdominal workout. Please bring your own 4-6 pound dumbbells if you have them. This class is a fun and energizing way to exercise for all ages. The class is held every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 - 9:00 am. Cost is $2.00 per participant. Lil’ Yogis - Kids Yoga Classes
Join Mandy as we stretch our imaginations and our bodies. This yoga class is open to all children ages 5-10 years old. Class includes yoga, games, crafts and laughs. Lil’ Yogis is held at the Recreation Center on Sunday’s from 3:30 - 4:30pm. Cost is just $6 per participant. Alignment Based Yoga Class
Join instructor Holli Terrell-Cavalluzzi at the Recreation Center for Alignment Based Yoga. This practice is deeply grounding and will inspire your spirit and open your heart. We will move through a full spectrum of poses using biomechanical principles of alignment. Classes are open to all levels of experience. Classes are every Tuesday from 9:30 - 11:00 am. Classes are $10.00 each. All participants must be members of the Recreation Center or pay the daily guest fee plus the rate of the class.

Power Flow Yoga
Instructor Carly LaBruno is leading Power Flow Yoga class that explores advanced yoga postures. This is designed for intermediate to advanced fitness levels with a focus on increasing flexibility and core strength. Class is every Saturday from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. The cost is $8.00 per class.
