• Sea Turtle Talk - Wednesday  June 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project will be presenting a talk on sea turtles at the Carolina Beach State Park visitor center at 7:00 p.m. Learn about threatened and endangered sea turtles nesting and hatching on our beaches from May - October, and how you can help protect these magnificent creatures. • Carnivorous Plant Hike - Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Take a hike with a park ranger and learn about the fascinating world of carnivorous plants that grow at Carolina Beach State Park.  See plants that "bite back" such as sundews, bladderworts, butterworts, pitcher plants, and the Venus fly trap.  Meet at the Nature Trail Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m.  For more information call 910-458-8206.
•Poisonous Plants, and Animals – Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Come learn about the "dangerous" plants and animals at Carolina Beach State Park.  Learn to identify them to make your experience in the outdoors a safe one.  Meet at the Visitor Center at 11:00 a.m.  For more information call 910-458-8206.

• Reading Animal Signs – Saturday, June 23, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Come join a park ranger for this program to learn about the animals that call Carolina Beach State Park home and how to tell where they have come and gone.  The ranger will have animal mounts, pelts, wings, talons, antlers and more to look at and pass around!  Meet at the Marina Day Room at 11:00 a.m.  For more information call 910-458-8206.

• Snakes of the Park – Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Carolina is home to 37 different species of snakes. Six of these are venomous and potentially dangerous to humans. Join a park ranger to learn about the snakes that can be found at Carolina Beach State Park. Meet at the visitor center at 11:00 a.m. For more information call 910-458-8206.
For more information about this hike and other program events in the park, contact the park office. Programs may be cancelled due to bad weather and/or lack of participation. Programs are open to the general public and free of charge. Please contact park staff prior to the program time if you need special assistance.
