This past Friday marked the Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce’s first Free Summer Concert Series of the Season! Local band “Eastbound” rocked the evening away as attendees lined up stage front and danced the evening away as the sunset over the beautiful Cape Fear River.
If you missed this one, mark your calendars for the second and fourth Friday of June, July and August, plan on bringing your blankets and lawn chairs so the whole family can boogie the night away to some of the best local and regional bands. The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce proudly brings you the 2012 Free Summer Concert Series featuring: Friday June 22nd: Spare Change (Beach, Country, Classic Rock & Roll). Friday July 13th: BLP (Blues). Friday July 27th: Beach Billy Brothers (Classic Rock & Roll). Friday August 10th: South of K (Bluegrass). August 24t: MAKO (Beach Boogie Blues). Concerts are held at the Fort Fisher Military Recreation Area in Kure Beach. Food is allowed, so pack your picnic and enjoy dinner to the grooves of live music – for free! We do ask that you do not bring pets or beverages. Beverages will be for sale. Bring blankets and chairs for the whole family and prepare to boogie the night away. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. and parking is free.
