• Sea Turtle Talk - Every Wednesday Night at 7:00 p.m. starting May 30 – Aug. 29. Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project will be presenting a talk on sea turtles at the Carolina Beach State Park visitor center at 7:00 p.m. Learn about threatened and endangered sea turtles nesting and hatching on our beaches from May - October, and how you can help protect these magnificent creatures. Carnivorous Plant Hike - Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. - Take a hike with a park ranger and learn about the fascinating world of carnivorous plants that grow at Carolina Beach State Park.  See plants that "bite back" such as sundews, bladderworts, butterworts, pitcher plants, and the Venus fly trap.  Meet at the Nature Trail Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m.  For more information call 910-458-8206.
• Catch’em, Boil’em, Eat’em -      Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. - Come learn how to catch, clean and cook blue crabs.  Participants will get to sample the pot!  Several types of recreational crabbing demonstrated.  There is limited space in this program.  Program registration required. Meet at the marina parking lot at 11:00 a.m.  Participants must call and pre-register for this program.  For more information call 910-458-8206.

For more information about this hike and other program events in the park, contact the park office. Programs may be cancelled due to bad weather and/or lack of participation. Programs are open to the general public and free of charge. Please contact park staff prior to the program time if you need special assistance.
