Pleasure Island has another Week of FREE Activites

(Pictured Above): Family Night is held on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk Every Tuesday Night. Families can enjoy free entertainment, like last week’s performance by P.I. Dance

Pleasure Island has another great week of FREE activities for your vacationing and leisure-time fulfillment.  There is always something for everyone on our little slice of paradise.  Please plan on joining us for Thursday nights’ FREE concert on July 26th from 6:30 until 9:30 featuring The Daniel Parrish Band.
Since his first live show at age 17, Daniel Parish has been a gem in the Wilmington, North Carolina sea of tourists, college students, and re-locators. With explosive growth in SE North Carolina it can be rare to come across someone born and raised in Wilmington. He is a true Wilmingtonian. Daniel Parish loves Wilmington.
He says, " I have the best of my two favorite worlds. In ten minutes I can be in the ocean trying to catch a wave or a fish, as well as ten minutes away from my favorite tree stand waiting on the natural high of spotting a big buck."
He found the late 70's model Yamaha acoustic, his mom used to play, in the back of a closet when he was 13 and by age 15 he was writing and singing songs. And don’t forget to stay for our fantastic Fireworks show at 9:00 pm (weather permitting).  Come join your family and friends at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk for a night of FREE fun, music and fireworks. The following night, we will be presenting our fourth of the FREE Summer Concert Series at the Ft. Fisher Air Force Recreation Area with Wilmington’s finest Beach Billy Brothers. This a  band that plays Great Music and Having Fun doing so.... Need some entertainment- this is for you!  They are a four piece Rockabilly Original band that also plays your favorite covers.
Don’t forget about Family Night every Tuesday at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk from 6:30-8:30, followed by Cash BINGO at the Gazebo Stage from 7:00-9:00 on Wednesday evenings. Let’s not forget, the very popular Carolina Beach Farmer’s Market held every Saturday from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake.
To close out the week, this Sunday, July 29th, the movie at the Carolina Beach Lake will be. inspiring Big Miracle based on a true story starring Drew Barrymore and John Krasinski. The showing will be at 8:45 pm at the Carolina Beach Lake at the corner of South Lake Park Boulevard and Atlanta Avenue.
Inspired by the true story that captured the hearts of people across the world, the rescue adventure Big Miracle tells the amazing tale of a small town news reporter (John Krasinski) and an animal-loving volunteer (Drew Barrymore) who are joined by rival world superpowers to save a family of majestic gray whales trapped by rapidly forming ice in the Arctic Circle.
All movies are weather-dependent, so be sure to call ahead (910-458-8434), if the weather seems threatening to make sure the show will go on.
