• Sea Turtle Talk - Every Wednesday Night at 7:00 p.m. starting May 30 – Aug. 29. Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project will be presenting a talk on sea turtles at the Carolina Beach State Park visitor center at 7:00 p.m. Learn about threatened and endangered sea turtles nesting and hatching on our beaches from May - October, and how you can help protect these magnificent creatures. • Sea Turtle Talk – Wednesday, August 22nd at 7:00 p.m. - Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project will be presenting a talk on sea turtles at the Carolina Beach State Park visitor center at 7:00 p.m. Learn about threatened and endangered sea turtles nesting and hatching on our beaches from May - October, and how you can help protect these magnificent creatures. • Carnivorous Plant Hike -  Saturday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. - Take a hike with a park ranger and learn about the fascinating world of carnivorous plants that grow at Carolina Beach State Park.  See plants that "bite back" such as sundews, bladderworts, butterworts, pitcher plants, and the Venus fly trap.  Meet at the Nature Trail Parking Lot at 10:00 a.m.  For more information call 910-458-8206.
• Snakes: Separating Myth from Reality - Come and learn the truth about these beautiful and useful reptiles and the important role that they play in keeping the balance of a healthy ecosystem. Find out about the venomous and non-venomous snakes that live in our area as well as ways to tell the difference between the two types. Meet at the Visitor Center. There are two program times for this event. 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Live animals will be available but touching is not required. For more information call 910-458-8206.

For more information about this hike and other program events in the park, contact the park office. Programs may be cancelled due to bad weather and/or lack of participation. Programs are open to the general public and free of charge. Please contact park staff prior to the program time if you need special assistance.
