Want to experience the inner workings of a Big-Time Music Festival? Want to help make history on Pleasure Island by volunteering for the 19th Annual Pleasure Island Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival on October 13th & 14th? If the answer is yes, then your opportunity has arrived. You may have heard, Mr. Gregg Allman and 13 other incredible bands are coming to Pleasure Island in less than a month and we need your help. The Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce has been asked to base our Volunteer efforts on a National Program called "Will Work For Music". The basis of this program is to exchange volunteer hours for the exposure to the music industry through the inner workings of a Festival setting. We will explain the details at a mandatory Volunteer meeting this Thursday in the Carolina Beach Police Training Room at 6:00 pm. If you are interested, please plan on attending. If you are unable to attend, but are interested in volunteering, please stop by the Chamber to fill out an application. Our desire is to put on a First Class Music Festival with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers that truly believe that through combined efforts we will bring about a common goal. We have many volunteer opportunities in the following categories: Parking, Front Gate, Beer, Tent, Golf Carts, T-Shirts/Posters, and Security.
We will discuss the attributes of each category on Thursday to help you decide where you would best fit in. We will also be having a RASP (Responsible Alcohol Seller Program) Class on October 1st at 6:00 pm in the Carolina Beach Police Training Room. This class is required for all volunteers working in the Beer Tent at the Festival. By participating in the one hour class, you will receive a certificate from the State recognizing your educational efforts toward safe alcohol disbursement. .
We are excited, we hope you are too. Together, we can show the rest of the World that Pleasure Island is by far the best place to call home and the best place to visit for a once-in-a-lifetime Concert.
