This past Friday, November 29th the Boardwalk Makeover Group kicked-off their Annual “Christmas by the Sea” events. After a countdown Boardwalk Makeover Volunteers Dan Wilcox, Dava Villaprano and Janis Boroznoff flipped the switch revealing this year’s lighted displays and decorated coves. Attendees enjoyed roasting marshmallows, ornament crafts, horse rides and more. The Community Church held a heavenly Live Nativity and Santa took several orders from his satellite workshop located right at the Carolina Beach Boardwalk!
The Holiday Cheer continues each Saturday through December 15th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. Bring the family down for free activities including a fire pit, hot chocolate and marshmallows, horse rides, a live nativity, arts and crafts with ornament making, and of course the kids can visit Santa in his workshop!
All these events are free. Christmas by the Sea is sponsored by the Boardwalk Makeover group, a not-for profit organization dedicated to preserving the Carolina Beach Boardwalk. The volunteer partners include Town of Carolina Beach Arts and Activities Committee, Island Women, the Carolina Beach Fire Department and many local churches and businesses.
It is staffed entirely by hardworking volunteers. For more information, go to www.boardwalkmakeover.org or find them on Facebook!
