Island of Lights Events Wrap Up with New Year’s Eve Celebration held in Kure Beach this Year

The New Year is getting closer and everyone on Pleasure Island knows that it is time to party.  The Island Of Lights Organization that brings so many great events to Pleasure Island throughout the year is also responsible for bringing us the biggest party where we will say goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013.
Every year the Island of Lights group alternates the event site between Carolina and Kure Beaches.  This year its Kure Beach’s turn and all the festivities will take place directly in front of the Kure Beach Pier.  Every thing will get started at around 9:00 p.m. on December 31st with musical entertainment provided by a live DJ, dancing, refreshments and more all leading up to the famous Beach Ball drop that will happen at midnight.  As is the tradition with this event there will be a raffle with the winner taking home the original artwork behind this year’s Island Of Lights Christmas Card and Ornament.  The whole family is invited to come out this weekend and join in all the fun.  Greet the New Year with your friends and neighbors at the Island of Lights New year Celebration.
The Island of Lights is a dedicated group of volunteers who work hard year round to promote tourism during the holiday season on Pleasure Island.  Every year they provide lighted holiday decorations around the Carolina Beach Lake and elsewhere on the Island as well as holding many popular events that draw large crowds.  They put on the “Light up at the Lake”, the Holiday Parade and Flotilla, the Tour of Homes and even more great events during other times of the year.  If you would like to find out more about the Island of Lights Organization, their scheduled events, or for information about becoming a member please visit their website at www.IslandofLights.org.  Join the Island of Lights members, along with the towns of Kure and Carolina Beaches as they welcome in the New Year this weekend!
