Vinyasa Yoga Class Feb. 13th
Vinyasa Yoga Flow classes begin on Wednesday, February 13th and will be held every Wednesday through March 20th, from 7:15 - 8:15 pm at the Kure Beach Community Center. This will be a whole body workout! A 6-week session is $48 per person. Pre-register by the first class with Jennifer Fenton, RYT, Yoga Alliance Certified, 910-471-4868.
Zumba Gold Fitness Wednesdays
Zumba Gold, a low impact, easy to follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness party will be held by Kathy Senna on Wednesdays from 9:00-10:00 am at the Kure Beach Community Center. Classes are on a pay as you go basis @ $6.00 per class. Wear comfortable clothing/shoes and bring a towel and bottled water.
No pre-registration required; just come!
Kure Beach Community Center "Valentine Dance Feb. 16th
Saturday, Feb 16th from 7:30 to 10:00 is the date and time for our 2013 Valentine Dance. Music for the night will be provided by DJ Tony. If you love to dance or just want a fun night out, put on your "old dancing shoes" and dance the night away at the KB Community Center. Refreshments will be provided. Cost is $15.00 per couple or $8.00 per person. KB Community Center is located on 31d Avenue behind Big Daddy's Restaurant. If you want a night out, whether it be dancing or just listening to good music, KB Community Center is the, place to be Saturday, Feb. 16 at 7:30. Hope to see you there!!
Women's Self Defense Workshop / Introduction to Aikido
Dates: Thursday evenings, March 7, 14, 21, 28, 2013. Hours: 2 hour classes / 4 nights / 8 contact hours. Times: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Location: Kure Beach Community Center 113 North 3rd St. Kure Beach, NC 28449. Instructor: Sgt. Richard Price. Early registration is recommended due to limited space. For Information Call: 919-465-0403. Cost: $25.00 Individuals or $35.00 (Mothers / daughters) Children must be middle school, high school or college age. Course description: This course is based on the Japanese martial art of aikido. The course will cover awareness drills, proper mindset, and hands on techniques to defend against violent assaults. Aikido is an effective means of personal defense, regardless of size, strength, age, or gender. No prior martial arts training is required.
Seminar: Disposing of Household Hazardous Wate on February 19
Speaking at the Kure Beach Community Center on Tuesday, February 19th at 4:00 pm, Lynn Bestul, Solid Waste Planner for New Hanover County, will present information to the community on how to dispose of unusual items such as paint cans, ammunition, rechargeable batteries, etc., including what refuse is acceptable for the County's collection points. He will also give an update on the County's new facility and its hours, as well as information on the next special drop off event scheduled at the ILM airport. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
Kure Beach Parks & Rec Classes

Showcase Your Arts & Crafts at the Kure Beach Street Festival - Saturday, April 27th
Local artists & craftspeople are invited to apply for space at the upcoming Kure Beach Street Festival. The cost is $85 for a 10’x10’ space and you must provide your own tent and display materials. A limited number of spaces are available. Deadline to apply for consideration is Friday, March 1.
Watercolor Art Class Wednesdays

The Kure Beach Community Center Committee meets every month on the second Tuesday at 10:00 AM, (excluding Nov & Dec). All Residents of Kure Beach are welcome to attend.
