Sewing enthusiasts, who would like to be a part of the American Sewing Guild’s Cape Fear Regional chapter but are unable to attend daytime meetings, can attend night time meetings, beginning in May. A night time Neighborhood Group will begin meeting from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 9 at Sew Happins (cq) at 413 South College Road, Wilmington. Following meetings will be on the second Thursday of each month at the same time and location. This will be the third Neighborhood Group under the Cape Fear Regional chapter. The other groups are the Wilmington Neighborhood Group, which meets from 12-2 p.m. on the fourth Monday at Fran’s Sewing Circle, 5751 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, and Sewing Fashionistas, which meets 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at Harbor Methodist Church, 4853 Masonboro Loop Road, Wilmington. Visitors are always welcome. If Wilmington is too far away to drive, anyone who would like to start a Neighborhood Group in their community, please go to the Cape Fear chapter web site at www.asgcapefear.org and click on the “About” link at the top of the page. The chapter is also on FaceBook at ASG Cape Fear.
