Town of Kure Beach Events Calendar for October 23, 2013

Community Center: 118 N. 3rd Ave

• Tues and Thurs – Adult and Children Aikido class with Richard Price. Children’s classes run from 6-7 pm and adult classes from 7-9 pm. To register, call 919-818-3046.
• Wednesday - Watercolor Painting Classes, Beginner class is 9:30-11:30 am, Intermediate class is 12:30-2:30 pm. 4-week session is $30 per person, pay and register at class.
• Thursday - Line Dance Classes with Ron Griffin from 10-11 am. Class in $1, no preregistration required.

Fall Tennis Lessons

The town of Kure Beach will begin a 4-week Fall Tennis Program on Monday, October 28.  Classes will be held as follows: Monday at 5:00 to 6:00 pm for Adult (above 18) Tennis Clinic; Monday from 6:15 to 7:00pm for Adult (above 18) Aerobic Tennis; Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00pm for Children (5-10) Tennis Clinic (all aspects of tennis); Wednesday at 6:15 to 7:15 pm for Young Adults (11¬-18) Tennis Clinic (all aspects of tennis).
The cost for the 4-week Session is $40; payable when registering the first night of class. Please make checks payable to “Town of Kure Beach”.  Each class will run from the week of October 28 through the week of November 18. The instructor is Sandi Mitchell, physical education instructor for Cape Fear Community College.  If you have any questions call Bob Fitzsimons, Recreation Coordinator, at either (910) 458-8216 or (910) 200-6025. 

BUNCO at Community Center Friday Night

Join us for BUNCO on Friday, October 25th at 6:30pm at the Kure Beach Community Center. FREE to play and prizes to winners will be Thirty-One products. (You can see a sample of products at www.beckytaft.com). BUNCO is an EASY and FUN dice game where you roll for certain numbers and is great for players of all ages and no skill involved! Minimum number of players needed to play is 12 but the more the merrier (and more competitive too). Please bring a small appetizer/dessert to share. Halloween Story Time by the Sea on Saturday, October 26th

Bring the young ones to Ocean Front Park on Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 am for a Halloween edition of Story Time by the Sea.
Come dressed up in your favorite costume and join the Fairytale Princesses for Halloween themed stories, games, music and fun. This event runs until 12:30 pm and is free to the public.

Holiday Market at Ocean Front Park, November 23rd and 30th

Get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping while supporting local artisans at the Kure Beach Holiday Market. 
You can enjoy the beautiful ocean view as you browse through items handcrafted by 30 talented artists and crafters.  Market hours of operation are 9am through 3pm on two Saturdays, November 23rd and 30th at the Ocean Front Park, located at 105 Atlantic Avenue, next to the fishing pier.
We hope you’ll join us at what might just be the closest market to the Atlantic Ocean!

Bus Trip to Palace Theatre on Dec. 5th for Jersey Nights Christmas Spectacular

Kure Beach Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is offering a bus trip on Thursday, December 5th to the Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach for a viewing of Jersey Nights Christmas Spectacular. The bus will leave Town Hall at 9am and return around 6pm. The show begins at 2pm. The price for the trip is $43 per person, which includes your bus fare and show ticket. Tickets are currently on sale for this trip. Stop by Town Hall and secure the last bus seat today! After the trip is full, anyone interested will be put on a waiting list and notified if a ticket becomes available. Remember, you do not have to be a Kure Beach resident to participate.
