• Tues and Thurs – Adult and Children Aikido class with Richard Price. Children’s classes run from 6-7 pm and adult classes from 7-9 pm. To register, call 919-818-3046.
• Thursday - Line Dance Classes with Ron Griffin from 10-11 am. Class in $1, no preregistration required.
Kure Beach Parks and Recreation Tennis Lessons
It’s still possible to sign up for tennis lessons in the Kure Beach Parks and Recreation program. The classes for adults run on Monday nights at 5:00 and 6:00 pm and the children run on Wednesdays at 5:00 and 6:00 pm as well. Sandi Keith is the instructor. She has been teaching for a number of years. She played her college tennis at Oklahoma City University where she was a 4 time Conference Champion; She also has played in the Carolina Cup and the Southern Cup representing North Carolina. Tennis lessons are a good way to get back into the sport or to just to improve your game.
Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification Class
Kure Beach will host an Adult CPR, AED, and First Aid certification class on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Community Center. The class will run from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and provide the opportunity to earn an American Heart Association certification. The class will be taught by Kure Beach’s State Fire Instructor, Jim Dugan, who has over 30 years of extensive experience. The cost to register is only $30.00, and class size is limited to the first 12 people. To register, bring your payment by Town Hall.
