Activities and Volunteers Needed
Once again the change of seasons is upon us and it is time for everyone to get back to activities and involvement at the Katie B. Hines Senior Center. Our classes and groups are beginning and friends are gathering for participation in our many activities.
This summer has brought to significant changes to our center with the absence of two long time dedicated volunteers, Lois Poignee and Grace Austin.
We are actively looking for volunteers for many different positions at KBH Senior Center. Whether art, helping in the kitchen, teaching a craft, or leading a special activity are your strengths, we need you. If you would like to volunteer in one of our existing programs or help us develop some new programs please stop in at the KBH Senior Center on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday and talk to any board member.
The annual general membership meeting will be held on November 14, 2013 at 1:30. A slate of officers and board members has been presented to the board and general membership. The slate of officers and board members will be presented and election held at this meeting. Newly elected officers and board members will begin their positions on Jan 1, 2014. We continue to have our pancake breakfast fundraiser on the first Saturday of each month, from 7:30 to 11:00.
A December bus trip to Mike’s Farm is being planned. Please stop by the center for more information including dates and rates.
Stop by the center at 308 Cape Fear Blvd. to see what we are offering for exercise, line dancing, crafts, painting, bingo, cards, and socialization and fun with other seniors and friends here on the Pleasure Island.
