NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital Receives United Health Premium Total Joint Replacement Specialty Center Designation

Designation Recognizes Quality of Orthopedic Care and Outcomes

UnitedHealth Premium® has recognized the New Hanover Regional Medical Center Orthopedic Hospital as a Total Joint Replacement Specialty Center. UnitedHealthcare® developed its specialty center program to recognize hospitals meeting rigorous quality criteria. The designation is based on detailed information about specialized training, practice capabilities and outcomes and is designed to help consumers make informed decisions when choosing quality and cost efficient orthopedic care.
“This designation acknowledges our commitment to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to our patients on a daily basis,” said John Michael Eargle, Service Line Director at the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital. “It takes a dedicated collaborative approach from our clinical and non-clinical team members to achieve such great results and we are honored to be recognized for our efforts.”
To receive this designation the NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital met extensive quality and outcomes criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice. The criteria incorporate measurements of breadth and depth of care, staff experience, emergency care, quality and outcomes reporting.  Designation in the program assures consumers that NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital meets or exceeds nationally recognized standards of care. NHRMC received three stars, the highest quality rating awarded.
