Wilmington, NC – July 30, 2013 Women of Hope will host a free educational forum for the cancer patient who is in any stage of treatment, anyone affected by a loved one’s cancer diagnosis, or any community member interested in learning and discussing healthy living. Program highlights include a dynamic panel of experts who will discuss healthy living, from a nutritional, physical, emotional and physiological view point. Rhonda Bellamy, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Wilmington will serve as the Forum’s Moderator. Speakers include: Catherine Butler, MA, LPCA Counselor at The Healing Partnership; Birgit Arb, MD Cape Fear Cancer Specialists Internal Medicine, Oncology; Lori Campbell YMCA Personal Trainer, Fit Beyond Cancer; Sandy Powell Cosmetologist at Hair Color Specialist; Susan Jackson Health & Wellness Coach; Karen Ruefle Clinical Dietician at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Women of Hope - Women of Hope, founded by Wilmington, North Carolina, photographer and portrait artist, Kenny Barnes and his wife Elizabeth, is a multi-ribbon cancer support group. Focused on women and women’s cancers, Women of Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the female cancer patient, their families, and friends.
Women of Hope aims at filling gaps through direct support, treatment support groups, caregiver support groups, health awareness educational opportunities, mentoring, financial assistance, advocacy and outreach.
