The beginning of a new year is a good time to reflect on the year that has passed and set goals for the year ahead. For most people, those goals revolve around healthier habits; whether it is making wiser food choices, getting more exercise, losing a few pounds or just spending more time enjoying the simple things and living life more fully.
But New Year's resolutions often fade by mid-February and old habits creep back into your daily routine. Why? Because total health and wellness does not happen overnight; it is an ongoing process. In order to achieve lasting health and wellness, making gradual changes and taking it one step at a time usually results in better success. Studies show that it takes about three weeks to create a new habit, so focusing on small goals and achieving them one by one (think baby steps!) is the true path to lasting change.
So, what are your goals for the coming year? Are you planning to give up some unhealthy habits or are you adding something new to your routine? Why not focus on just one small, healthy change for January instead of tackling everything at once? The Island Wellness Market is putting you to a challenge, the Green Smoothie Challenge: All you need to do is to commit to drinking one green smoothie each day for the first two weeks in January and get cleaner skin, more energy and better health. Tell them you are taking the challenge and receive $1 off your green smoothie.
They will also be offering January Juice cleanse. They will be offering opportunities for a one, two or three day juice cleanse each week in January. Start the New Year by cleansing with fresh, organic, cold-pressed vegetable juices and discover vibrant health and wellness. Advance sign up is required; contact the market for more details. Island Wellness Market is partnering once again with GRUB and Carolina Beach Community Acupuncture for another smoothie class. Join them on Saturday, Jan. 18 for the Smoothie Revolution: Beyond the Basics. Class will be held at Island Wellness Market at 2:30 p.m. Contact the market to sign up or for additional details.
Some other upcoming classes and events are Healing with Essential Oils the date will be announced later.
