WILMINGTON, NC - New Hanover Regional Medical Center has named Keith Anderson, a patient liaison in the Surgical Services Department, as the Employee of the Year for 2013. Nominated by his peers, Anderson’s compassion for patients and their families, teamwork with his colleagues, and ability to communicate quickly and clearly to all involved in a patient’s care are among the reasons he was selected for this honor. “Keith narrates the steps in a patient’s care in real time, keeping the loved ones connected to the patient from the time they enter the NHRMC Surgical Pavilion to the time they leave,” says one colleague.
“He can help patients and families understand complicated processes and he communicates to everyone on the team with dignity and respect.” The Employee of Excellence program at New Hanover Regional Medical Center is a way for the organization to acknowledge the outstanding contributions of their employees. Employees are nominated and selected by their peers for high performance in four key areas: communication, compassion, teamwork and ownership.
The Employee of the Year is selected from among the monthly winners as someone whose performance is exemplary.
