The doors are now open, complete with a new signboard, for the Kure Beach Diner located at 101 K Ave in the historic pier area of Kure Beach.
They opened their doors February 6, 2012 after being closed for six weeks for renovations, which transformed the Old Pier House’s kitchen into an updated chef’s delight and restored the seating area, complete with new carpet and paint, to its original state. During the transformation, new owners George and Frankie Turner completely overhauled the kitchen, putting in new equipment and designing it to better handle the rush time orders. The changes in the seating area are subtle, leaving it with its authentic booth seating and tables for returning guests to reminisce over. Many of the same historic pictures are back and they have plans to include more in the future, making the Kure Beach Diner a place to stop and reflect on the history of Kure Beach. “We are so happy to be here,” says Frankie Turner. “This is a great spot to be in Kure Beach and we couldn’t be more pleased.”
The Turners also own Beach House Burgers whose rise to popularity has been their fresh, hand pattied burgers and homemade fries. Many now associate summer in Kure Beach with their ever-popular burgers. You can get the same burgers at the Kure Beach Diner as you can at Beach House Burgers. In addition, they have homemade, rolled by hand and not a machine made, hushpuppies that have been deemed the best on the beach. Their seafood is lightly breaded by hand and they only use vegetable oil in preparing their menu items and not peanut oil.
Deserts are homemade and sure to please.
