Fire & Spice Gourmet is in its 15th year, its owner Tommy Cooper began by selling hot and barbecue sauces and seasonings and has grown to include unique kitchen items along with local prepared jams, pickles and wines. The store relocated to a larger store at the parking lot level in The Cotton Exchange. Cooper is always looking for kitchen items that are unique and just not available in everyone’s kitchen. He offers the new and trendy smaller gadgets to be used in the kitchen. There is a section of items made of silicone which is the new plastic that can withstand high temperatures. There are coastal-themed dish towels and aprons.
He offers the largest selection of hot and barbeque sauces and marinates in the area. He features local salsa, jellies and preserves and has deep-fried peanuts. There is also a large selection of wines including those from North Carolina wineries. Cooper can help you find a bottle wine that can be used with any event or even a gift for someone special.
Throughout the year he has wine tastings and food tastings from the food vendors. Cooper finds it rewarding to interact with the people who come and visit and get their reactions of what is available in the store.
