Ronald Stevens and staff are still serving hot dogs with a smile and welcoming atmosphere. Everything on his menu is still available and beginning in October he will be adding some hearty fall soups, like bean chili. The vegetarian hot dog is steamed to order, in addition to the popular Carolina, Island Hot, All the Way and Salsa Dogs the menu includes chopped barbecue pork sandwich with his freshly made cole slaw, chicken tenders and Frings basket.
The cole slaw is made fresh daily. He also makes his own Island relish, which includes sweet red pepper relish with onions and jalapenos and you can only get it there, it is his own secret recipe. He enjoys interacting with his customers making sure they feel at home.
He will be scaling back his hours and be closed during January and February, but will be open for the New Year’s Eve festivities. During the off-season he will be redesigning the outside seating area by removing the planter that sits in the center and adding more tables and will be placing booths in the corners this will allow more seating.
Stevens will be out and about during the Island Day celebration handing out menus and coupons to the residents. Like Island Hots on Facebook to stay up-to-date with what is going on at the restaurant.
