KURE BEACH – For an Italian dining experience you must visit Freddie’s Restaurant. Fred Shambora and Barbara Gargan opened the restaurant in 1995 and is the number one dining house on the island.
They offer Wine and Dine Tuesdays, which is $10 off select bottles of red and white wine; Thursday is Double Pork Chop Night for $20, you will receive two pork chops, any flavor, plus bread, salad and a side item.
They also run the Early Bird Specials every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 – 6 p.m. These are smaller portions of some of the restaurants more popular items for only $10 and include salad and bread. Some examples on that menu are chicken Parmesan, eggplant Parmesan and linguini with red clam sauce.
Right now they have pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin pie martinis with a graham cracker crust. They also offer espressos, lattes, cappuccinos and hot chocolate for these upcoming cold evenings and look for some changes to their dessert menu coming soon.
The restaurant will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with a special five course menu on New Year’s Eve. This is by reservation only.
