Casa Matta Italian Restaurant is serving Mama Doria’s Breakfast every Friday and Saturday from 7 – 11:30 a.m. and brunch on Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Breakfast hours will expand to seven days a week in 2014 when warmer weather returns.
The restaurant menu is being updated soon. The to-go menu will have most of the new additions. A little sneak peek of these items include an antipasti platter which is a sampling of Italian cold cuts, cheeses and marinated vegetables, new garlic Parmesan bread sticks, chicken wings with your choice of sauce, a daily soup option, veal saltimbocca cooked in Marsala with artichoke hearts and spinach, chicken cacciatore which is breast meat sautéed with mushrooms, roasted red peppers and onions in a light marinara sauce.  They have also added baked ziti, and a signature dish, chicken Casa Matta with sautéed chicken topped with shrimp and baked in a tomato cream sauce.
Also, they have added eight new pizza toppings including roasted red peppers, artichoke hearts, and sopressata. And for people who cannot eat a whole pizza by themselves they now offer personal pizzas for $5.99 and on Thursdays they run on special for $5, so if everybody else is having pasta in your group you do not have to feel shy about getting some pizza.
They also added a pepperoni calzone and a Super Roni pizza.  They have new specials daily including some sliders they have been trying out and people have been really enjoying.  Casa Matta is at 1140 N. Lake Park Blvd., Carolina Beach, for information or to order, call 910-707-0550. The restaurant is open seven days a week. Visit the website at www.casamattacarolinabeach.com, like them on Facebook.
