Hurricane Alley’s on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk is a beachfront bar and grill that offers delicious fare, open air dining and spectacular views of the ocean. Specializing in spectacular sandwiches and scrumptious seafood, Hurricane Alley’s is just in its first year of business but already is one of the most popular spots in town to grab a drink and a bite with family or friends while enjoying the natural beauty of a sunset or the excitement of the weekly fireworks. Hurricane Alley’s is famous for their rooftop deck and live music. One of the only places on the Island where you can actually see, hear and feel the waves breaking on the beach while you dine, Hurricane Alley’s has paid special attention to giving their patrons a true and authentic ocean front experience. Hurricane Alley’s has a grown a reputation for bringing in the best bands to play week after week in an intimate setting which provides a live performance experience like no other.
Hurricane Alley’s offers a menu which includes salads, sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and steam pots. Many of the items are affectionately named with twists on terminology from those most famous of storms that target our coast. If you heard some of these names and words on the evening news you may leave town but followed by the descriptions of the sandwiches they’re being associated with at Hurricane Alley’s you may find the urge to head to the beach when you hear things like “Catastrophic,” “Monsoon” and “Typhoon.”
Of course referring to their “Catastrophic Club” made with generous portions of turkey, bacon, ham, cheddar and pepperjack cheeses, the “Monsoon Mahi Delight” made with grilled and blackened mahi on a bed of spinach with bacon and mango salsa, and the “Typhoon Turkey Avocado” made with sliced turkey, baby spinach, avocado, bacon and ranch dressing. Other names that have incited fear to coastal residents in the past but now are making a comeback as storms of flavor are “Bertha’s Buffalo Chicken,” the “Hazel’s Hot Ham and Cheese,” “Charley’s Cuban BBQ,” and “Gloria’s Grilled Cheese.” These are all available on your choice of white, wheat, ciabatta bread or wrap.
Hurricane Alley’s Perfect Storm Steam Pots are for the seafood lover who can never get enough. Available in increasing increments from one to four people they are great for anyone with a large appetite or to share with a group. The steam pots are loaded with peel and eat shrimp, crab legs, corn on the cob, and red potatoes all seasoned and steamed with Old Bay seasoning. This is the way seafood was meant to be eaten! If you don’t want the sides their steamed seafood is also available in your choice of seasoning by the half pound and pound. After you eat stay and hang out at the bar with some of the best drinks and friendliest bartenders on the Island. There is always a crowd and the party goes on all night!
Hurricane Alley’s is located on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk at 5 Boardwalk Way, just steps away from the beach. They are open on Mondays through Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. and on Fridays through Saturdays they are open from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 a.m. They feature live music, daily food and drink specials, and have televisions so you can watch this year’s MLB, NFL and college football action at your favorite bar and grill!
