Olde Salty’s Restaurant on the Carolina Beach Boardwalk is one of our area’s premier dining attractions open year round serving up the best seafood and more on the Island!  Owner and operator of Olde Salty’s, Brenda Armes, just celebrated her 62nd birthday this past Sunday.
If you weren’t amongst the friends and patrons to stop by this weekend be sure to wish her a belated happy birthday the next time you stop in!
Olde Salty’s is the perfect spot to enjoy lunch or dinner throughout the week.  Start your meal with any of their great appetizer selections like steamed oysters and shrimp, the tasty coconut shrimp or their world famous crab dip.  They serve up the very best in fried and steamed selections, like shrimp, flounder, deviled crab, clams, oysters and even soft shell crab sandwiches all year long.  They are still the home of the blue plate special for only $8.95 that combines your choice of fried seafood along with fries, slaw and hushpuppies.  You can order a large fried or steamed seafood dinner and even combinations of your favorites out of options which include flounder, shrimp, oysters, deviled crab, clam strips, and crab cakes.  All of their entrees are the most reasonably priced in town, are served with your choice of two sides and you can always add a trip to the huge salad bar. There deviled crab is stuffed in house and they are the only place in town serving up shrimp stuffed or jalapeno stuffed deviled crab!  All of Olde Salty’s steamed seafood selections are also served with hushpuppies and two sides.  All of their cole slaw, tartar and cocktail sauces are all made in house and you can taste the difference.  If you’re not in the mood for seafood you can still find some other great dinner choices at Olde Salty’s.  Try their homemade original Olde Salty’s recipe “Chicken Florentine” made with fresh zucchini, sautéed spinach and bacon smothering an 8oz filet of chicken.   If you are stopping in for a quick bite or a light lunch try any of their great seafood and non seafood sandwiches and burgers.  No matter your mood you will always find the perfect lunch or dinner at Olde Salty’s.  Olde Salty’s also features daily specials as well as homemade desserts like bread pudding and cobblers. New to Olde Salty’s is the recently opened Olde Salty’s Side Bar, with its main door located just around the corner from Olde Salty’s restaurant.  The Olde Salty’s Side bar is a great addition to the Boardwalk nightlife offering patrons a fun, social gathering spot with the best drinks in town.  The Olde Salty’s Side bar offers full Olde Salty’s menu service and even features a late night menu with selections like steamed shrimp by the pound or half pound, a spicy Jalapeno Cheese dip served with pita chips and even subs.  Pass the time with friends and family at the Olde Salty’s Side Bar by challenging them to a game of shuffleboard on the Island’s only free shuffleboard table or show off your skills with a cue on the free pool table.  At Olde Salty’s there is never a shortage of fun, food or great times.  Olde Salty’s now features outdoor seating in front of the restaurant and Side Bar so you can enjoy the beautiful fall weather while you dine.  Just steps from the beach you can feel the ocean breeze and listen to the mesmerizing sound of waves crashing while you tickle your taste buds with delicious flavors.
There is always something fun going on at Old Salty’s.  Bring some friends and join in on the Bowling Tournament on Tuesdays and on Wednesdays bring your friends who have cataloged an abundance of useless knowledge for Trivia night always starting at 7:00pm.
Olde Salty’s is located on the Carolina Beach boardwalk at the corner of Oceanfront and S. Pavilion.  They have all ABC permits and feature a full bar along with a large selection of domestic and import beers.  They are open seven days a week year round except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.  They always have great special additions to their menu for all holiday occasions including traditional St. Patricks day meals, Mardi Gras and every other holiday throughout the year.  On Christmas eve and Thanksgiving eve they always throw a pot luck style dinner.  On Mondays through Thursdays Olde Salty’s opens at 3:00 P.M. and they close at 9:30 P.M.  On Fridays and Saturdays they open at 11:30 A.M. and close at 11:00 P.M.  On Sundays they open at 12:00 noon and close at 9:30 P.M.  The Olde Salty’s Side Bar is now open on Fridays and Saturdays until 2 a.m.  Don’t miss the festivities this St. Patrick’s Day at Olde Salty’s!  If you would like to find out more information please call Olde Salty’s at (910) 458-8090.
