Ronald Stevens and staff are still serving hot dogs with a smile and welcoming atmosphere. Everything on his menu is still available and beginning this week he is going to begin serving soup. The first soup he will be offering will be ham and bean for $2.75 a bowl. Look for a new soup each week, like chili with chunks of beef, cheese and bacon made with beer to name a few.
If you “like” their Facebook page, they will announce what the soup of the week will be on Wednesdays.
The barbecue pork sandwich will remain on the menu and become part of the new menu sign when the new season begins. In addition are all the great dogs the popular Carolina, Island Hot, All The Way and Salsa dogs along with the vegetarian hot dog that is steamed to order. They also offer chicken tenders, nachos fully loaded and Frings basket.
The cole slaw is made fresh daily. He also makes his own Island relish, which includes sweet red pepper relish with onions and jalapenos and you can only get it there, it is his own secret recipe. He enjoys interacting with his customers making sure they feel at home.
They will also be adding more beer next year. He is also adding a Cigar Night on Monday nights for those who enjoy a great cigar, bring your cigar and enjoy a good beer outside on the deck.
Island Hots is one of the sponsors for Salty Paws Festival which is Oct. 19 at the lake. And, if you are a participant of the Surf Fishing Challenge, have someone come get your lunch from Island Hots.
During Island Day they gave more than 300 Island Hots Frisbees away and 300 to 400 coupons out. So, as a reminder do not forget to take advantage of the coupons, they are good until the end of the year. Being pet conscience, they also had water for the pets that were out and about with their owners.
During the off-season he will be redesigning the outside seating area by removing the planter that sits in the center and adding more tables and will be replacing the planters in the corners with booths which will allow more seating.
As mentioned above, “like” them on Facebook to get current information about Island Hots. Hours will be depending on the support they receive. If they have to change hours they will announce it. Remember Island Hots is pet friendly, they welcome your pets
