Island Time Drop-n-Play is open year round, and is the solution for flexible child care. When you need day care for your children they are there to help you out without the financial obligation. Something new that is being tried is Second Saturday Shuttle, where you can drop off your children to play and they will bring them home. Parents will have that day to do what they want to do and they will bring the children home for you. You must prepay for the visit, and expect your children home between 9:30 – 10 p.m. The shuttle will only run on the island. The center is going to try this for the next several months on the second Saturday of each month so parents can plan according.
The center is a great idea for holiday parties. If groups or organizations need a child friendly place to host a party – they are perfect, that is right, it does not just have to be a birthday party. They are offering building rental. They are also offering corporate rates for business wishing to offer their staff child care for their special events or company parties this holiday season.
For the national Shop Small and Local Small Business Saturday, Nov. 30 Island Time will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. so that parents can go shop local for this event. Then, on Sunday, Dec. 1 from noon until 4 p.m. the center will have a Santa's workshop for the children, while parents shop, the children will be making gifts for family. Plus, it will be $1 off the regular per hour rate for this weekend.
They have not forgotten Santa either! Santa will be visiting Island Time on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a toy drive. Portraits will be taken by Dana Jackson Photography and you will receive one free digital image per family for your toy donation. There will also be lots of new holiday books available. The donated toys will be given to Carolina Beach Fire Department. A portrait is a great Christmas gift idea plus you will be helping others to have a great Christmas.
The care is for children from 1 to 12 years old and the center is open six days a week. There is no registration fee, but, the parent does need to register their child, so the staff is able to know your child and what you child may need while there. Then once the registration is complete it stays in the system and all they have to do is pull up the information when you bring your child back in.
They offer many fun activities, there is a toddler area, dramatic play area with a stage, role play center, a snack/craft center to name a few, there is something for every child to enjoy and entertain themselves while they are there.
Island Time offers an after-school program, and they will pick up at Carolina Beach Elementary and take the children to supervised play. Remember when school is closed during the holidays and during the summer the child can stay longer. Prices are very reasonable and they offer a prepayment bonus which is when families put $50 or more on their family account the center will upgrade by 20 percent, so at least $10 is free.
