Two Sisters Bookery is owned and operated by Barbara Galvin. Two Sisters Bookery is a local, independent bookstore located at The Cotton Exchange in historic downtown Wilmington. The store is a great browsers’ book store with both classic and contemporary titles to choose from.
In addition to books, she offers a variety of eclectic gifts and crafts from area artisans. Just in time for the holidays, she has ornaments available with some retro Christmas cottages. If you are looking for something cool for the Dr. Who lover in your family, check out the Tardis Disappearing mug and Tardis/Dalek salt and pepper shakers. There are lots of gift ideas available in the store to choose from.
If you are looking for a eclectic or unique gift for someone special, this store is the place to go. With the array of books and art work, crafts and items that are unusual that can’t be found anywhere else, you need to visit this store.
What is great about the store and Galvin is that she takes the time to organize the displays with the themes of the titles of the books, and will have complimentary items there to choose from. The books are easy to find in categories throughout the store, which helps in finding what you are looking. She specializes in hard-to-find regional titles and carries the works of many local authors, from cookbooks, local history, ghost tales or an analysis of the Civil War in Wilmington.
If you are looking for a book and you cannot find it, as long as it is in print, she can order it for you. There is also a great children’s section with many of the long-time loved bedtime stories, subject matters that will interest your young reader, coloring books and so much more.
Galvin holds book signings for the local authors and while you are there check out the selection of collectibles, signed books and first editions. This is just a fantastic store and it is local, you do not have to travel far to enjoy.
So the next time that you are in downtown Wilmington, you need to go to The Cotton Exchange and stop in Two Sisters Bookery, you will be able to see for yourself what a great store this is. Galvin will be there to answer your question and show you the unique gifts and items she has to offer.
