Deck House will be open New Year’s Eve and will be offering its full menu at regular menu prices. They will be offering a special Southern traditional dinner of ham, black-eyed peas and collard greens with either chowder or a salad for $25. Also they will have dinners such as pan-seared duck breast with raspberry port wine glaze or their Surf and Turf dinner. Also there will be a choice of any dessert and that will come with two glasses of champaign for $12. All bottles of wines will be at a 30 percent discount. The hours for the evening are 5 – 10 p.m. The restaurant will be closed for New Year’s Day.
Due to the volume of the evening they will not be running its usual barbecue rib specials or half price appetizers, those specials will return the following week. The restaurant offers seafood and traditional American cuisine. Seafood is local, the steaks are hand-cut, and also on the menu are prime rib and a variety of pasta dishes. A popular dish is the almond encrusted salmon served with lemon beurre blanc sauce, other dishes are fresh grouper served with a topping of crab meat, asparagus and lobster cream sauce, New Orleans-style shrimp and grits, and seafood pasta which is sautéed shrimp and scallops with asparagus, mushrooms and tomatoes in a roasted lobster cream sauce over penne pasta.
Also offered is grouper chowder and the owners’ specialty Manhattan clam chowder. Some items on the a la carte menu include lobster tail, side of crab legs, and side of scallops, grouper served grilled, blackened or broiled.
They have a spacious full service bar and offer wine, beer and cocktails. They have updated their wine and beer list and have added some new wines and beers. All of the servers are trained with the new wines, and they will recommend which wine goes best with the dinner you are ordering. Wednesday nights is half price wine night, this would be a time to taste and pick your favorite wine.
Coming back for the customers to enjoy and participate in is the fifth Murder Mystery Night after the first of the year. This special event will be held on Monday night. Tickets are prepaid only. It is something fun to do while enjoying your diner and trying to figure out this who-done-it mystery, you will just never know what will happen during this time of suspense. Each show has a different theme and plot.
