The Veggie Wagon is a locally family owned produce company that specializes in delivery of fresh local North Carolina fruits, vegetables and homemade products to the Carolina Beach, Wilmington, Kure and Wrightsville Beaches. April Sussman and her husband, Max, travel to all the local farms and small batch producers to bring you the freshest items the state has to offer. The Veggie Wagon has recently added some new items at Whole Foods, so not only can you find their wide variety of pickles and honey habanera hot sauce, you can now find their all natural Summer Fresh Salsas and three of their all natural salad dressings.
You will also find baked goods, cheeses, eggs, coffee, dressings, sauces, dry rubs and seasonings, jams, jellies, meats, milk, pasta, pickled products, salsas, herbs, healthy snacks in additional to produce. They make their own ice cream and also offer candles and aromatics. They hold wine tastings on Tuesdays and beer tastings on Thursdays from 5 – 7 p.m. All locally produced, you can find your seasonal beer and a great tasting wine at these tastings.
They also offer all natural, free range chicken arriving along with lots of dry aged, all natural beef. This will most likely be their last cow until after the first of the year, so be sure to stock up for the holidays. Cannot get to their location? You can order online by going to their website or by calling them to place an order. Orders need to be received no later than noon on Wednesdays for pick up the same week.
