Melissa Creekmore and Raymond Jones were arrested at Fort Fisher for taking and giving drugs to minors.

NEW HANOVER CTY - According to Sergeant J.J. Brewer with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested a man and woman for felony child abuse while on patrol Sunday night around 12 midnight at Fort Fisher State Park. A deputy noticed four individuals at the Fort Fisher State Park. The deputy thought that the individuals were arguing and approached to investigate. Brewer explained once the deputy made contact with the individuals he realized that the four were hallucinating. The deputy called for EMS assistance and attempted to get more information from the individuals. Raymond Joseph Jones, a 28 year old white male, and his girlfriend Melissa Carin Creekmore, a 35 year old white female, had ingested the synthetic drug called 2C-I.
Creekmore and Jones had also given the drug to Creekmore's 16 year old daughter and the daughter's 15 year old friend. All four individuals were hallucinating. After EMS treatment, Melissa Creekmore and Raymond Jones were arrested and transported to the New Hanover County Detention Facility.
Both have been charged with felony child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Creekmore's daughter was placed into DSS custody and the daughter's friend was released to her mother.
Melissa Carin Creekmore was charged with one felony count of Felony Child Abuse and two misdemeanor counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor and placed under a $10,000 Secure bond currently in custody.
Raymond Joseph Jones was charged with one felony count of Felony Child Abuse and two misdemeanor counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a minor. He was placed under a $10,000 Secure bond currently in custody.
