Reward Being Offered After Man Attacked At Local Restaurant Labor Day Weekend In Carolina Beach

CAROLINA BEACH - The Carolina Beach Police Department is asking for the public's help to locate individuals responsible for severely beating a man outside of the McDonald's restaurant on North Lake Park Blvd September 3.
According to Detective Derek Moore, at around 1:33AM that day police received a call and responded to the McDonald's. When the officer arrived he noticed 45-year old Roderick Savage laying in the parking lot bleeding from the face. A friend of Savage's told police they asked three men in a crème colored newer model Ford F-250 pickup truck for a ride through the drive-thru to get some food.
The McDonald's lobby was closed, but the drive-thru was open to vehicle traffic only. Customers are not allowed to walk up to the drive-thru window.
Savage's friend told police one male hopped out of the truck and hit Savage in the face three times and then got back in the truck and left headed north on Lake Park Blvd.
Savage was taken to the hospital by EMS for his injuries and as of Tuesday was undergoing surgery on his broken arm.
Detective Moore said Roderick can't remember much of the incident and didn't think he had been hit that many times. Moore said hospital officials said the injuries were severe.
Moore is still reviewing security camera footage obtained from the restaurant, but that hasn't generated any progress in the investigation.
Savage is offering $5,000 to anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest of the person that assaulted him.
If you have any information about the case, call the Carolina Beach Police at 458-1246.
