By: Willard H. Killough III
Managing Editor

CAROLINA BEACH – Following last week’s resignation of Carolina Beach Town Manager Tim Owens, Mayor Ray Rothrock and Councilman Lonnie Lashley, the Council will meeting Tuesday November 20, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. at which time a closed session will be held to discuss a personnel matter.

At 5:30 p.m. the Council will receive department updates, discuss ongoing recruitment for an interim town manager, and continue discussion about filling the elected officials’ vacancies.

A press release issued Friday states, “Council encourages all qualified residents of the Town of Carolina Beach to submit a letter of interest to include name, permanent dwelling address, contact information, and any qualifications, background or experience that you feel would be beneficial to the community.  Also at this time Council will be updated and continue discussions concerning the MOTSU property on Dow Road.  Council will also discuss continuing efforts concerning the beach nourishment project with Layton Bedsole, Shore Protection Coordinator.  Council may take action relating to these matters if necessary.”
