Kure Beach Is Gearing Up For The 2013 Summer Lifeguard Season

KURE BEACH - The Town of Kure Beach is gearing up for the 2013 Summer Lifeguard season. Tryouts are May 11th, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the lifeguard shack beside the Kure Beach Pier. The tryout will consist of a 1.25 mile run, followed by a swim 800 meters consecutively. After tryouts, there will be a 2 week mandatory training period in which you will be taught all of the key skills to be a lifeguard in Kure Beach. Training will include basic rescue, multi-victim rescues, advanced rescue techniques, unconscious victim, CPR, AED, First Aid training, in depth medical training, medical application on the beach, and the standard operating procedures. Starting pay is 9.25 hr. Fill out application upon arrival at tryouts. Be sure to be there at least 15-30 minutes early to fill out an application. No experience necessary.
