CAROLINA BEACH - The Carolina Beach Police Department has charged David Christopher Goodson with Breaking and Entering of two Carolina Beach businesses; the Hoplite Bar and Restaurant and Carolina Family Medicine. The department posted a surveillance video image of a man who broke into the Hoplite Bar and Restaurant on North Lake Park Blvd on July 14 at around 7:30 in the morning.
Money was reported stolen from the cash register. At the time the video image was poor quality but combined with the description it was enough for the police to identify Goodson.
The initial description was approximately mid to late 30s wearing a military style ball cap, light colored pants and shirt along with white Adidas shoes.
On Tuesday July 16th the department posted on their facebook page, "A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all of our incredible Facebook fans for your help today in the Hoplite Bar burglary. A suspect has been developed and warrants will be obtained within the next day or so."
According to police Mr. Goodson was also charged with an additional breaking and entering of Carolina Family Medicine which occurred in May. This is not the first encounter with Carolina Beach Police. Mr. Goodson also faced similar charges for breaking and entering homes in the Carolina Beach area in 2012. Mr. Goodson is currently in the New Hanover county Jail under $120,000 bond.
