Gazette To Launch New Election Discussion Website

CAROLINA BEACH - The Island Gazette will launch a new website Wednesday night, August 28th to encourage public discussion of issues facing our community and the November municipal election in Carolina Beach.
The new site is located at
Access is free. Citizens can register and participate in existing discussions or create new topics.
The mission is to make it easier for the public to keep up with the candidates in one centralized location rather than having to watch for Twitter or Facebook posts that can be hard to keep up with.
The forum has one moderator and simple rules: Be professional, civil and factual.
Additional features are planned for the site including online polls, election laws, campaign financing reports and a section containing a wealth of info on individual candidates.
The Gazette will also be sending out a Candidates Questionnaire next week.
Each election cycle we send out a list of questions to candidates and publish those responses in print and on our website.
