U.S. 74/76 Bridge in Wrightsville Beach to be Temporarily Closed Overnight Beginning Sept. 8

RALEIGH, N.C. : August 28th, 2013 - The U.S. 74/76 bridge in Wrightsville Beach will be closed to traffic for four consecutive nights the week of Sept. 9, weather permitting. The nightly closures will be in effect between 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m., Sunday night through Thursday morning.
These closures are necessary to clean and paint the bridge’s structural steel.
General traffic will not be able to cross the bridge. Emergency vehicles will have access.  
Law enforcement officers will be stationed on each end of the bridge during the closures.
Information will be placed on the changeable message boards near the project and on the project website prior to these closures.
