CAROLINA BEACH - The 2014 Vehicle Identification Decals (VID) are available for purchase as of January 1, 2014. In addition to the State of North Carolina, the Town of Carolina Beach requires all residents to register their vehicles for tax and identification purposes.
Current Vehicle Identification Decals must be displayed in the lower inside right corner of windshield of every vehicle of every resident of Carolina Beach. VID’s are valid for one year from January 1st through December 31st.
The cost for decals purchased between January 1st and March 31st is $5. If they are purchased after March 31st, a $10.00 penalty will be applied.
Failure to purchase and properly display a current VID may result in a $50 fine, plus court cost. VID’s are required and utilized to identify residents and absentee property owners during and after disasters as well as assist law enforcement efforts during all emergencies.
VID’s may be purchased at the Town Administration Building during normal business hours.
Year round residents must provide a vehicle registration with a Carolina Beach address in order to obtain a VID. Decals may be purchased via mail by enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope (residents need to provide a copy of their vehicle registration, absentee property owners need to provide a copy of their vehicle registration as well as a copy of their property tax statement or deed) along with payment to: Town of Carolina Beach, 1121 N Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428.
