Holiday Closings For New Hanover County Government Offices, Attractions

NEW HANOVER CTY - New Hanover County will close its administrative offices from Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. County offices will reopen and resume normal hours of operation on Friday, Dec. 27.
The County offices will close again Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, in observance of New Year's Day.
New Hanover County Library:
All New Hanover County branch libraries will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26. All branches will operate a modified schedule Monday, Dec. 23; closing at 6 p.m. and Friday, December 27; closing at 5 p.m.  
All libraries will operate a modified schedule Monday, Dec. 30 and Tuesday, Dec 31; closing at 5 p.m. and will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. For more information about library locations and hours visit http://www.nhcgov.com/Library.
New Hanover County Department of Social Services:
All units of the New Hanover County Department of Social Services (DSS) will be closed from Tuesday, Dec. 24 to Thursday, Dec. 26, and will also be closed on January 1, 2014, New Year's Day. Residents are encouraged to call 911 to reach an on-call social worker to report child abuse and neglect.
New Hanover County Landfill:
The New Hanover County Landfill will be open until 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21; until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24; and closed Wednesday, Dec. 25. The landfill will reopen Thursday, Dec. 26 with regular hours of operation and will be open until 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28.
The landfill will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1 and will be open until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4.
New Hanover County Attractions:
Airlie Gardens located at 300 Airlie Road in Wilmington, will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 and reopening Thursday, Dec. 26. Airlie Gardens will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1. For more information about Airlie Gardens visit http://www.airliegardens.org or call (910) 798-7700.
The Cape Fear Museum located at 814 Market Street in Wilmington, will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25. The Museum will reopen Thursday, Dec. 26.
