Obituary: Sallie Todd Jordan

Sallie Todd Jordan, age 93, died on April 3, 2013, at Premier Living, Lake Waccamaw, NC, after suffering from dementia for a number of years.
After 17 years apart, Sallie rejoins her husband of 57 years, Clyde Jordan.  Theirs was a match made in heaven and Sallie has missed Clyde dearly since his death.  She can now be at peace and spend eternity with the love of her life. Sallie was born on May 10, 1919, to John Edward Todd and Rosa Matthews Todd.  She was the 6th child of 11.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry, James, Willie, and Eddie Todd and her sisters, Lizzie Todd Mann, Eva Todd Jordan, and Joyce Todd Arnold.
Sallie and Clyde lived in Rocky Mount while spending their summers at Carolina Beach.  In 1970 they moved to the beach year-round.  Sallie loved Clyde, her family, bingo, chocolate candy, and ice cream.  She was fun to be around and she will always be remembered for being a good sport.  Everybody loved Sallie.  Her life changed when she developed dementia, but she was still a favorite of those who took care of her.  The family expresses a special thank-you to Dr. John Hodgson and to the staff of Premier Living who loved and cared for Sallie during her final years of life.
Sallie is survived by three children, Sid Jordan, Jr. of Wilmington,  Judy Jordan Harritan and husband Don of Whiteville, and Nancy L. Jordan of Garner; four grandsons, Sidney Jordan III of Arkansas, Rick Hufham of Knightdale, Vance Harritan and wife Michelle of Huntersville, and Mark Harritan of Whiteville; 2 great-granddaughters and 4 great-grandsons.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, J.E. Todd and wife Frances of Bradenton, Florida, and Sam Todd of Sanford; a sister, Rosella Todd Harrington and husband Johnnie of Willow Spring; a sister-in-law, Doris Todd of Elm City; and a brother-in-law, Bill Arnold of Sanford.  Sallie also leaves behind numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Andrews Valley Chapel, South College Road, Wilmington, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday,  April 6, 2013 followed by a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1311 Shipyard Blvd., Wilmington.
